OUR HISTORY

2004-2009

2004 - Joined MAMa, (Mothers Against Methamphetamine) and established the first chapter in Southeast Ga known as, SEGAMAMA.

2005 - Implemented Drug Prevention and Awareness Programs with age - appropriate education in schools through out our community . 2006 - Acquired a permanent meeting place, known as The First G.A.P. House, providing a dedicated place for recovery meetings and community support. 2007 - Advocated for Drug Free School Zone Signs through out Brantley County. 2008 - Advocated for and was recognized for helping establish Drug Courts in Brantley, Ware, Coffee Counties. 2009 - Received the Book of Golden Deeds from Exchange Club of Brantley County in recognition of outstanding service to the community.

2010-2014

2010 - Moved to current G.A.P. House location established one of Southeast Georgia's early drop in recovery centers, providing a safe place for support, encouragement, and recovery services. 2011- Received 501(c)3 non-profit Status and expand our ministry to include women's residential recovery housing, helping women to rebuild their lives and restore relationships affected by addiction. 2012 - Completed training as a C.A.R.E.S. Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist.

2013 - Partnered with Faces and Voices of Recovery, a national advocacy organization.

2014 -A year of significant personal hardship for our director following a serious automobile accident and brain injury. After a 15 month recovery she returned to the ministry with a renewed determination to continue serving women and familes

2015-2021

2015-2019 - GAP House Ministries moved to a new location and partnered with Lulation Baptist Church. Through this partnership, G.A.P. House expanded from one recovery residence two recovery residences, increasing our ability to provide safe, supportive faith-based housing for women seeking recovery and a new beginning. ​ 2020-2021- The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges, but G.A.P. House Ministries continued serving women through recovery and remained committed to its mission

During this period G.A.P. House Ministries achieved GARR certification, demonstrating our commitment to recognized standards for quality recovery residences.

G.A.P. House also became THOR approved, strengthening our ability to serve eligible women referred through Georgia's criminal justice and re-entry systems.
